CKC Machinehandel Surmac NV (Surmac) is a limited liability company and a subsidiary of C. Kersten & Co. N.V. (Kersten). Kersten has been the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Suriname since 1941. Surmac was founded as a separate entity in 1957 as the sole Caterpillar dealer in Suriname with the specific purpose to provide main production sectors with high quality technical equipment.
Surmac is an international company operating in Suriname and in French Guiana. The three branches in Suriname are in Wanica, Paramaribo and Nickerie. Surmac Guyane SAS operates in French Guiana.
Over the years, Surmac has worked to become trusted partner and solution provider to our customers. Surmac works with major customers are Staatsolie, Rosebel Gold Mines – Zijin Mining Corp, Newmont Suriname, Kuldipsingh, Energie Bedrijven Suriname (EBS), Surinaamse Waterleiding Maatschappij (SWM), Haukes, Baitali Grassalco, Tjongalanga to name a few.
Today, Surmac is the official dealer of more than 15 brands including Caterpillar, Haulmax, DAF (heavy transport), JLG (lifts), Massey Ferguson (Farm equipment), Perkins, Wacker Neuson, Sullair (Construction), Olympian/Caterpillar Generator Sets (Generators), Thompson Pumps, ASCO, Caterpillar switch gears, MCFA and Towmotor (Forklifts).
