N.V. Grasshopper Aluminum Company, N.V. Grassalco, is a state-owned mining company whose main task is to explore and exploit minerals and ores from the rich Surinamese soil. The company was founded on August 30, 1971. In recent years we have grown into a company where diversification of the Surinamese economy and sustainable development of man and the environment is paramount. Our company takes the lead in this respect by investing revenues from non-sustainable resources in setting up and developing sustainable industries. We produce gold, aggregate, granite, recoverable building materials and plants. We’re ISO certified for Quality (ISO-9001:2015), Environmental (ISO-14001:2015) and Health & Safety (ISO 45001:2018). Our subsidiary InVitroPlants Grassalco N.V. is MPS-NPS certified.
