The Ministry of Finance and Planning consists of three main components. The Directorate of Finance manages state funds, supervises government finances and coordinates monetary policy and state investments. The Directorate of Tax levies and collects taxes in accordance with laws and regulations, and ensures sufficient financial resources for public expenditures such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Directorate of Planning and Development Financing coordinates development planning, manages funds, and collaborates with international financiers such as the World Bank. Together, these departments ensure a stable financial foundation and sustainable development for Suriname.
