The Department of Welfare and Labour falling under the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Labour (VWA), is responsible for national employment and labourmarketpolicies, occupational safety, labour rights,labourstandards and social protection under the ILO concept of Decent Work.
The ministry is mandated to ensure that the quality of health care in Suriname is guaranteed, also to govern labour administration and workforce development in Suriname.
