Two-Day Local Content Forum Added to the SEOGS 2026 Program

The Local Content Forum at SEOGS 2026 is focused on increasing the participation of Surinamese businesses in the energy sector. Entrepreneurs, policymakers, educational institutions, and industry representatives will come together to discuss how Suriname can maximize the benefits of the sector’s growth. Key topics will include workforce development, knowledge transfer, local supplier participation, and strengthening partnerships between national and international stakeholders.

The role of youth and innovation will also take center stage on June 26 during the Youth, Entrepreneur and Innovation Fair. This event is aimed at students, young professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Visitors will have the opportunity to connect with companies operating in the sector, learn about career opportunities, and gain insight into the skills required for the jobs of the future. Innovative projects and emerging technologies will also be showcased. The fair offers young people and entrepreneurs a platform to network and explore the opportunities created by the growing energy sector.

SEOGS 2026 takes place at a time when Suriname continues to prepare for the development of offshore oil and gas activities in the Suriname-Guyana Basin. Through its expanded program, SEOGS 2026 aims to strengthen the connection between international developments in the energy industry and economic opportunities for Suriname.

To accommodate the expected increase in visitors, several improvements have been implemented. Additional parking facilities have been made available, traffic management around the venue has been enhanced, and covered walkways have been installed to provide greater comfort and accessibility between the various halls and event activities.

The conference is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil, Gas and Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation.

SEOGS brings together companies, investors, policymakers, and industry professionals from Suriname and abroad to discuss developments and opportunities in the energy sector. The event has grown into Suriname’s largest energy gathering and has become a key meeting point for the industry across the region.

Last year, SEOGS attracted more than 12,000 visitors from over 40 countries. In addition, more than 250 companies showcased their products and services on the exhibition floor, while over 200 speakers participated in presentations and panel discussions.
