The regional and global energy landscape is rapidly changing, and secure, sustainable and affordable energy is the direction of travel, with energy security now prioritised over sustainability. Across the Global South the trilemma of energy security, affordability and sustainability has a different meaning to that in the Global North. For many, energy access, industrialisation and economic development must precede decarbonisation. How can these economies and this region work together to further amplify their voice on the international stage in an increasingly fragmented world. How can they balance their energy demands, technological advancement, environmental stewardship, energy security and economic prosperity and what can they learn from each other?
