With the first FID announced and potentially 2 more to come as early as 2026/2027 Suriname will see 5 exploration wells this year and perhaps another 4 or 5 next year from multiple IOCs as the Suriname-Guyana basin continues to be one of the most prolific and prospective basins on the planet. With a large part of the current acreage offshore Suriname still unlicensed and attractive fiscal terms there are still huge opportunities for new players to enter the market and for current operators to expand their footprint. Understanding the prospectivity of the geology and existing and new petroleum systems is of paramount importance. How can the current successes be used to tap and unlock oil and gas and further expand the resource base?
