Adriana La Valley
Effective May 1, 2023, the new Country Representative to Suriname for the lnter-American Development Bank Group (IDB Group) is Adriana La Valley.
As Country Representative for Suriname, Mrs. La Valley will lead the IDB's operations in the country, working closely with government officia ls, development partners, and civil society organizations to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. She will oversee the IDB's lending and technical assistance programs in key areas such as infrastructure, social development, and environmental sustainability.
Mrs. La Valley, a dual citizen of the USA and Mexico, holds a degree from the Guadalajara University in Mexico, a master's degree in Banking and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a master's degree in business law trom the American University. Adriana entered the Bank in 2001as a Private Sector Specialist in the Private Sector Department. She served as a Counselor in the Office of the Executive Director for Mexico and the Dominican Republic, as Operations Sr. Specialist in Washington, DC, and as Chief of Operations in Suriname, Jamaica, and Ecuador.
