Armando Zamora, Director of AZ Energy (UK) and of the Centre for Carbon and Energy Management Studies (CEGCE) in Bogotá, is an independent consultant and advisor based in Oxford (UK) and Bogota (Colombia).

A former president of the National Hydrocarbons Agency of Colombia (ANH), between 2020 and 2022, where had also held office as its first Director General for eight years since its creation in 2003 until 2011.

Previously he was a senior advisor to Accenture Strategy Energy until 2018 and to Schlumberger Business Consulting until May 2016 where he was a member of the Latin America advisory board since 2013.  He is a specialist on energy policy, energy finance, public administration, exploration and production contracts.

He holds a BSc degree in engineering from Los Andes University in Bogotá; an MSc and a doctoral degree (Nuc Eng) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of the USA; and an MBA from the IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland.
