Ashok Sarkar is a Sr. Energy Specialist in World Bank, Washington DC. With 30 years of experience, he has led energy projects of over $3B across 45+ countries, focusing on electricity generation and transmission, energy efficiency, demand-side management, solar, sustainable cooling, electric mobility. A power engineer by training from India, a MS in Energy Planning & Policy from AIT, Bangkok, and Ph.D. in Energy & Resources from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA, which conferred him with a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2022. Ashok has published/presented widely. He worked earlier in the Asian Development Bank (ADB), USAID, RMA (USA) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL, India).
