Ben joined Maersk Drilling in 1988 after graduating in mechanical engineering. He spent the next 20 years offshore working his way up to Drilling Section Leader on various rigs in the fleet.  After moving onshore, he worked in a new build programme. Following delivery of the rigs he became Deputy Asset Manager for all International Jack Ups. In 2012 he moved over to deep water working onshore as Rig Manager in Egypt, Australia, and West Africa. 2017 saw him return to HQ in Copenhagen as Head of Drilling Solutions, since the Noble/Maersk merger in 2022, Ben relocated with the family to Houston and now sits as Operations Manager for the North America and Gulf of Mexico rigs.
