Christine Amato is a Social Performance specialist with nearly 20 years of experience working with communities, including 12 years in the mining industry. Her expertise includes value chain development, economic development initiatives, and community engagement. As Social Performance Lead for Newmont Suriname, she oversees both Operations and Exploration, specializing in early access, Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), community agreement negotiations, systems development, implementation, management, and ESG reporting. Christine holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and teaching qualifications. Outside of work, she enjoys supporting others, reading, cooking traditional foods, and spending quality time with friends and family.
