Derrick Klaverweide is the Commercial Director of the Optiek NINON group, a leading optical retail company in Suriname and Guyana working to drive the success of the company at all levels of the organization. He holds bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics from the University of Rotterdam. He has a strong background in Marketing Management and Entrepreneurship and a proven track record in Business Development, Organizational and Operational Leadership.

He has founded multiple startup businesses in Trinidad and Tobago and held a number of senior management positions in small and medium businesses as well as advisory roles in different organizations. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Paramaribo Quota.
