After receiving a Ph.D. in Geology from Texas A&M University, Doug started in the oil and gas industry with Exxon in 1990 and moved to Chevron in 1996.   He has worked exploration, geological services and geological research in many basins around the world including the Lower Congo, Orphan, Niger Delta, Kurdistan/Zagros and most recently the Guyana-Suriname Basin, where he has been the Exploration Manager since 2020.  He has been a leader in geologic research and technology and holds a patent in fault detection, mapping and visualization from 3-D seismic data.
