Gina Griffith
Gina Griffith is an environmental advocate with dual Masters degrees in Surinamese Law and International and Comparative Law.
She spent 16 years at the National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS), contributing to key environmental policies, including Suriname's Environmental Framework Act, the REDD+ Readiness Program, and both the first and second Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
Now, as Executive Director of Conservation International Suriname, Gina focuses on protecting Suriname's natural landscapes while balancing conservation with sustainable economic growth, addressing challenges like illegal mining and large-scale agriculture in partnership with local communities.
