Hamish Macintyre was appointed the Director of Deepwater at Apache in May 2025. He joined Apache in 2023 as the Director of Geophysics. With a 26-year career in the oil and gas industry, Hamish has extensive experience in research, exploration, and development roles.

He began his career as a research seismologist at Imperial College, London, and subsequently worked in seismic processing and quantitative interpretation with Hess and Total. He then joined BG Group, where he held several key positions, including a JV secondee role with PTTEP in Bangkok and a Subsurface Management role in the BG Thailand Asset. Afterward, he returned to R&D as the BG Geophysics Technology Lead in Brazil.

In 2015, Hamish became the Deputy Chief Geophysicist at BG HQ. Following the 2016 BG-Shell combination, he transitioned to Shell and moved to Houston as an Exploration Advisor, overseeing Brazil projects.
