Andrew Baasaron currently serves as the Surinamese Minister of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation. Prior to his appointment to the Cabinet, Minister Baasaron established himself as a highly focused entrepreneur and a respected educator. He is the founder and former leader of AMPS Holding, a premier company known for delivering innovative solutions in energy, drone technology, and sustainable systems. His technical expertise is rooted in a strong background in engineering, which he shared with the next generation of professionals during his tenure as a part time lecturer at the University of Suriname. This dual experience in the private sector and academia allows him to lead with a unique understanding of how to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and economic application.
