For the past seven years, Jim has served as IADC’s Senior Director, Government & Industry Affairs – Offshore. His remit includes a broad range of drilling industry interests in support of global safety, regulatory, and best practice initiatives. On behalf of IADC members, Jim collaborates with a variety of international government and industry stakeholders to facilitate safe and efficient upstream activities that make oil and gas accessible for an energy intensive world. Prior to joining IADC, Jim spent 23 years in the U.S. Coast Guard serving in maritime and offshore compliance roles along with Coast Guard asset acquisition and procurement assignments.  Jim earned his MBA in finance from Northern Illinois University, and a Masters of International Public Policy with a focus on energy resources from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University.
