John Goedschalk
John Goedschalk is an economist with an MBA in Finance and Marketing who began his career at ABN AMRO, Ernst & Young, and major telecom firms. As former Executive Director of Conservation International Suriname and lead UN climate negotiator, he bridges corporate strategy with climate and conservation finance.
John is CEO of BioTara AG and founder of CCAS, advising governments, companies, and investors on carbon markets, renewable energy, and nature-based solutions. He also serves as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Suriname on climate finance and biodiversity strategy, supporting the development of innovative financing mechanisms and national policy frameworks.
His work is grounded in international frameworks, including the UN Human Rights System and the UNFCCC, ensuring climate action aligns with equity, Indigenous rights, and long-term sustainable value.
