Marcelo Castro
Associate Professor and researcher at the School of Mechanical Engineering and, currently, the Director of the Center for Energy and Petroleum Studies - CEPETRO, both at UNICAMP, University of Campinas, Brazil. Leader of ALFA (Artificial Lift and Flow Assurance Research Group). Holds a bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (University of São Paulo – USP). Performs research on Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer applied to Multiphase Flows. Coordinator of several research projects with Energy Companies (Petrobras, TotalEnergies, Equinor, Petronas and others) on the fields of Flow Assurance, Artificial Lift, Integrated modeling of Reservoir and Production Systems, pursuing CO2 footprint reduction of oil and gas production.
