Mervel Kotzebue-Fleur has served as the CEO of DP World in Suriname since September 2023, after serving as General Manager of DP World Paramaribo since 2017. In her role, she is responsible for leading the overall strategy and operations of the organization within Suriname.

Previously the General Manager of DP World Paramaribo, Mervel's leadership has been instrumental in establishing key initiatives at DP World, including the launch of DP World Logistics in Suriname in 2021, the establishment of the Cosco agency in Suriname in 2018 and the development of the freight forwarding framework in 2024. She has also supported the creation of the CMA CGM agency in Guyana and managed CMA CGM's operations in Suriname, where the agency became a market leader.

Having spent 20 years in various sales and commercial management roles within the consumer goods, transport and logistics industries, Mervel is a strategic and commercially minded executive with expertise in improving business performance and profitability.

In 2022 Mervel was selected as the Vice chair of the Surinamese Business Association and in 2023 she was selected as the winner of the Maritime Award of the Americas in the category of Outstanding Woman in Port & Maritime category. As addition to her work, she serves as a board member for the Suriname Economic Oversight Board since 2023, a monitoring body for the IMF program in Surinam which is a private sector initiative.

Mervel holds a bachelor's degree in business economics and completed her MBA at FHR/Maastricht School of Management.
