A geology graduate from Cardiff University in 1981, Mike worked for independent oil and gas companies involved in the UK, Europe and West Africa until 1989. Mike the joined Petresearch as a geologist specialising in international upstream project A&D (Acquisition & Divestment) and portfolio management activities, becoming group General Manager, until leaving to establish his own Upstream Energy A&D Advisory company, ENVOI Limited at the end of 1999 with whom he remains MD.

ENVOI has now spent 22 years advising upstream clients on the ‘buying, selling and portfolio management’ of energy projects around the world and most recently was advisor to Staatsolie’s and helped run both the very successful Shallow Offshore Bid Round in 2020/21 and recent Demerara Bid Round in 2022/23.
