Ghisiawan, Nawien Avinash Vishal is an Investment Officer within the Financial Institutions
Division at IDB Invest, the private-sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group,
based in Paramaribo, Suriname. He specializes in financial sector development across Suriname
and Guyana, focusing on structuring investments, advisory services, and fostering sustainable
private-sector growth.

With almost two decades of experience in banking and finance, he has extensive expertise in
project finance, equity investments, syndicated lending, and risk management. Prior to joining
IDB Invest, he worked as a Senior Relationship Manager at De Surinaamsche Bank.

He holds a Master of Science in Banking and Finance and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same
field, reflecting his strong commitment to advancing financial sector development and impact
investing in the Caribbean and Latin America.
