CEO Offshore Blue Ports, OOS-Group

Nicholas Serge Kouwenhoven, born in The Hague, The Netherlands in 1964, is a distinguished Strategic Advisor with a specialization in Government Relations and Business Development, both within the Netherlands and on an international scale. His extensive career epitomizes a blend of advisory roles across a multitude of sectors and nations.

Since 2020, Mr. Kouwenhoven has held the influential position of Special Advisor to OOS International BV. In collaboration with OOS Group chairman Leon Overdulve, he has explored several ventures in Aruba and Curacao, and has proposed the development of an Offshore Port/Terminal for Suriname. Mr. Kouwenhoven has cultivated a strong rapport with His Excellency Chan Santokhi, the President of the Republic of Suriname. Per 1st May he was appointed as CEO of the new Offshore Blue Ports division of the Dutch OOS Group.

Since early 2023 he also serves as the Strategic Advisor Government Relations in The Netherlands for the French Naval Group, overseeing the replacement program for four submarines of the Royal Netherlands Navy. In 2024, a significant contract was signed between the Dutch Ministry of Defense and the Naval Group for the acquisition of four Black Sword Barracuda submarines, valued at 5.5 billion euros.

Mr. Kouwenhoven's career also includes his tenure as the Director of Communications and spokesman for Mark Rutte, who currently holds the position of Secretary General of NATO and formerly served as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands for fourteen consecutive years.

Furthermore, Mr. Kouwenhoven made substantial contributions as a senior spokesman and project leader for the Royal House of the Netherlands for over a decade, working in close collaboration with Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, who now reigns as the King of the Netherlands.

Nicholas Kouwenhoven presently holds the esteemed position of Chairman of The BluEconomy Initiative, further exemplifying his dedication to sustainable and innovative maritime projects.

In terms of academic pursuits, Mr. Kouwenhoven studied strategic leadership at Nyenrode Business University in The Netherlands and earned an MBA from the European Institute of Management and Technology in Switzerland.
