Novella Alcantra – Majana is currently the National Coordinator of the Suriname Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITISR). Novella has held the position of Head Policy Officer at the Community Engagement and Development Unit0 at the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Novella was appointed in April last year and since then has made it her goal of getting to grips with the EITI and leading the secretariat in such a way that the EITI in Suriname in particularly the Multi Stakeholders Group, consisting of Government, Civil Society and Private Sector representatives is fully supported in leading the EITI process successfully.
