Paul Watzlavick is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and Chargé d'affaires at the United States Embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname. With decades of diplomatic experience spanning Poland, Colombia, the Philippines, Chile, Japan, Iraq, and Kenya, he brings a truly global perspective to energy diplomacy. His background includes serving as Senior Bureau Official for Arms Control and Non-proliferation and Director of Intelligence Analysis for the Middle East and North Africa — regions central to global oil and gas markets. Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Watzlavick worked as a consultant on federal programs in Texas, home to America's energy heartland. He holds graduate degrees in Public Policy and National Security Strategy.
