Rudolf Elias is currently a Senior Advisor at Ernst & Young Caribbean (EYC) and former Managing Director of Staatsolie, the National Oil Company of Suriname.  At EY Rudolf focuses on assisting EY’s clients in all aspects of Energy and for his biggest passion “Conserving the biodiversity of Suriname”. Rudolf has over 35 years of global and regional business experience. He lived and worked in the Caribbean, Australia, Canada & Europe for over 30 years. During the last 6 years as CEO of Staatsolie, Rudolf focused on finding offshore oil and transforming the company into the partner of choice of the IOC’s.

Rudolf holds a degree in Civil and Construction Engineering from the Technological University Eindhoven-Netherlands. Prior to joining Staatsolie in 2009, Rudolf was the Vice President Development of BHP Billiton Suriname and worked for Ballast Nedam International from 1984-2004 as among others General Manager for Caribbean, Suriname and Guyana and Country Manager Suriname.
