Suraya Nanan currently serves as the CEO of Haukes Construction N.V. based in Suriname. An ISO 9001 certified company, with 15 years of experience in architectural works, civil constructions, lifting jobs and piling works.

In 2004 she started her career at BHP Billiton Suriname with HSEQ for three years. In 2007 she went to the Netherlands where she worked as team leader of the environmental department at “Het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam”.

In 2009, at the establishment of Haukes Construction N.V., Suraya joined the company, where she has held various management positions over the years, including HSEQ, Human Resources, Finance, Business Development, and Corporate Support. Suraya holds a degree in Environmental Technology from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. She has continually developed herself in corporate strategy for business growth and financing. With a rich career for over 20 years, she entered several successful partnerships in Suriname and the region.

As a dedicated Rotarian she also serves the community for over 15 years. Driven by passion, Suraya firmly believes that the future is not a place that we’re going to, but a place we have to create. With her leadership style and visionary approach, she inspires those around her to strive for excellence and innovation leading Haukes Construction N.V. towards the next level.
