Vanuessa Gefferie
Vanuessa Romanna Gefferie is a Surinamese executive with over fifteen years of expertise in government management, international cooperation, and environmental policy. Since October 2024, she has served as Director of the National Environment Authority (NMA), where she oversees national environmental management. She also contributes to global initiatives through her roles with the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund.
In these capacities, Ms. Gefferie combines strategic leadership with regional collaboration to advance sustainable development and strengthen responsible environmental governance in Suriname and across the Caribbean.
She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Sciences. Her career is distinguished by broad experience, strong analytical skills, and a diplomatic approach that underscores her commitment to building resilient and sustainable futures.
