Vereniging van Economisten in Suriname (VES) is the leading professional association for economists in Suriname. Founded on October 17, 1972, it has grown into a key platform uniting economists, students, policymakers, and stakeholders dedicated to Suriname’s economic progress. The VES promotes the study and application of economics by fostering debate, stimulating research and education, publishing analyses (including Inzicht), organizing lectures, seminars, and conferences, and building national and international networks. Representing civil society, we contribute to evidence-based insights on fiscal, monetary, and sustainable development issues. The VES stimulate active participation to build a prosperous, resilient Suriname.
